Tennessee Crew is the coed competitive rowing club for the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Established in 1972, Tennessee Crew is not only one of the oldest club sports at the University of Tennessee, but also one of the oldest collegiate rowing programs in the Southeast.

Tennessee Crew offers both students and faculty of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville the opportunity to participate in one of the oldest, most challenging, and most rewarding intercollegiate sports in the United States. A team sport, rowing demands team work, physical endurance, and a competitive spirit.

Like many other rowing programs, Tennessee Crew is not a varsity sport, which allows for a competitive team without the demands of a varsity program. As an organization, the team is both an opportunity to achieve a high level of athleticism and develop a social group of friends that will last throughout college and life.

Over the years, the club team has had many successes. In more recent history, our varsity women competed at the Dogwoods Master regatta in Oak Ridge, taking bronze. UT Crew has always done exceptionally well at the Chattanooga Indoors Rowing Championship. In 2017, Annette Robbins placed first in the novice women's category with a time of 0:07:52 and our current president, Susanna Lowy, placed 2nd in the collegiate open women's category with a time of 0:07:40.50. Jessica Adams landed herself in first place in the women's open Ltwt category in 2017 with a time of 0:08:07. Tennessee Crew won the collegiate team relay in 2017. In 2018, Sarah Krueger placed first in the women's open Ltwt category with a 2k time of 0:08:18. Tennessee Crew has also sent several boats to the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the team took to the Schuylkill River and competed against some of the US's best collegiate club teams. During the Fall 2014 season, UT Crew saw one of it's most successful seasons to date, medaling at every regatta attended, coming in first place in 6 events, and winning silver in 3. The men's varsity 4+ also won first place at the Masters National Head Race in Augusta, Georgia, becoming the top masters boat in the country in 2014.

As a club, Tennessee Crew depends upon its members and its alumni, parents, and sponsors. From coaching, equipment, and finances, the club is self sustained.
